Shipping & Returns

Many people have asked Madwoman why we don't have an online store and ship our delicious baked goods nationally.  Up to now, our biggest challenge was trying to figure out how to ship at a reasonable price.  We haven't really solved this mystery but we have installed a shipping rate calculator to give a more accurate price based on weight.

 

Is this a perfect solution?  No but it gives you an estimate of the shipping price.  Once your order is submitted, we will do the following:

  1. Pick the items you have ordered and put everything in a box.
  2. Weigh the box filled with your order.
  3. Check for the least expensive shipping method.  Fresh baked goods must be shipped US Priority Mail.  We try to use the flat box rate whenever possible.
  4. If the final cost of the shipping is more than 25% of the shipping estimate given to you on our shopping cart, we will contact you for approval.
  5. Add the shipping cost to your order cost and charge your credit card.

 

SHIPPING

 

As mentioned above, the shipping cost on the shopping cart checkout is an ESTIMATE.  The actual shipping cost will be determined once your order is boxed and weighed.  Madwoman will attempt to select the shipping carrier with the lowest rate and/or fastest delivery time.

 

Madwoman strives to ship your order promptly but sometimes complications arise.  We need time to prepare and package fresh baked goods.  If the item(s) you ordered are out of stock, we will contact you to see if you want us to ship the items that are immediately available. 

 

Madwoman ships on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only.  All shipments are marked "OKAY TO LEAVE W/O SIGNATURE".  If the shipping carrier indicates the package as been delivered, please look at doors you do not use regularly or check the delivery address.  Maybe your neighbors are enjoying your baked goods.

 

Madwoman is not responsible for weather or shipping carrier delays.  You may contact us at 1-612-825-6680 or use our Contact Us page if you want special handling such as rush service, insurance, or delivery on a specific date.

 

We use recycled packing materials and try to protect all glass containers but problems can occur in shipment.

 

If  your package arrives looking like an elephant sat on it or it is dripping a liquid, you have two choices:

  1. Refuse delivery and contact Madwoman within 24 hours of the problem.
  2. Accept delivery and check inside to see if anything is damaged.  If there are damaged goods, contact Madwoman within 24 hours.

If you receive the wrong items, please contact Madwoman within 48 to 72 hours.

 

For damaged or wrong items, Madwoman will work with you to rectify the problem.  Madwoman will issue refunds or credits for damaged or incorrect goods.  Madwoman will refund shipping costs if the error is our fault or a manufacturer recall.

 

RETURNS

 

Baked goods cannot be returned.  Follow the instructions above if you baked goods arrive damaged or not what you ordered.

 

Dry goods must be returned within 14 days of date of purchase.  They must be unopened and in good condition.  Madwoman cannot resell these dry goods after they leave our premises unless they are sealed in tamperproof containers.

 

If in doubt whether an item can be returned or not, contact us.  

 

For returned items, we will work with you to resolve the problem.  Refunds or in-store credit will be granted based on the situation.
